Macrostomum strain and line names

 

An informal agreement between groups working with Macrostomum is to name animal strains and lines using 2-3 uppercase letters followed by numbers. The prefixes are chosen arbitrarily, and a lab can use as many different prefixes as it sees fit, as long as a prefix is not already in use by another lab.

The following prefixes are in use:

Berezikov lab (Gronongen, The Netherlands): HUB, NL

Ladurner lab (Innsbruck, Austria): IBK

Schärer lab (Basel, Switzerland): BAS, DV, LM, LS
